Fundraising is almost Finished

Hi everyone,

I hope this finds you all well 😎

So with only today and tomorrow left for donations and the end drawing near for this year's DGR, happy to say this is my best year yet with my total almost $7,000, just WOW and its thanks to you all and your awesome support, well done to you 👏👏😀

I have just had another sponsor join me and this great cause, Aaron Roberts from ARO Electrical & Air, an absolute gentleman so if you need any electrical, air-conditioning or renewal energy solutions done, Aaron and his team are the guys you want. Thankyou so very much for your support Aaron and supporting such a great cause, very much appreciated.

Well I'm signing out for now as I'm about to board our flight to Sydney to sail away on a cruise on Monday, my 60th Birthday to the South Pacific, so good luck to everyone for next couple of days.  I will try to get 1 more blog in once fundraising has finished before we sail out of Sydney.

1 Week Left for Fundraising

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would do a quick update to let you know whats happening to date :-)

With fundraising ending 11.59pm Sunday 1st June we are on the downhill run now to the end of the fundraising for this great cause. 

As I enter my blog to date 5.50pm AWST, here are some figures and where Im standing at the moment.....

2025 Registered Riders Globally - 126,581 (how awesome is that)

Top 100 Fundraising Riders Globally - Im 109th

Top Fundraising Riders in Australia - Im 10th

Top Fundraising Riders in Perth - Im 2nd behind the awesome Mickey Blue Eyes who has pretty much cemented 1st place, well done brother :-)

Im hoping to make the Top 100 Riders and secure 1 of the limited edition DGR Helments for 2025, what a 60th Birthday present that would be, being the positions will be presented on 2nd June, my birthday :-)

So if you would like to help a great cause and in the meantime at the same time help me get to the Top 100 as I may never get this close again, please dont hesitate to donate to my fundraising page, there is still time, thanks heaps in advance.

Remember gentlemen, get checked and if you need to talk to someone please do, dont hold it all in, just talk we all want is best for you guys suffering and want you here with your families and friends.

Awesome Day & Great Turn Out for a Great Cause

Hi everyone, 

Well I was wide awake early eager to get going so it was up and in to it.

I met up with a mate on the freeway and we proceeded to head into Elizabeth Quay, the start of this years Perth leg of The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride.

There were already a lot of bikes arriving and it was just great witnessing all the different bikes, all sizes big and small, old and classic new and everyone looking so dapper and even the dogs came along for the ride dressed in their best attire and goggles, just dazzling all round.

It was great to see the carousel going and it was like being a kid again riding on the horse hahaha, even funnier I had earlier had a laugh with Ben Selboskar, 1 of the event organisers after my wife and daughter said I would be lined up first and ben said he would beat me and be first, so when I got to it, sure enough I was first in line but then I saw Ben already on it and I yelled out to him, you did beat me hahahaha just another moment of great times on the day.

The ride left Elizabeth Quay at 10am sharp and out onto freeway through South Perth and across the freeway heading towards Fremantle with a cruise around the river finishing at Gage Road Brewery, just an awesome view.

We had speeches with very moving stories, prizes, raffles and great company with like minded people all there for the same cause, to support Mental Health & Prostate Cancer.  I rode today in memory of a young man who I was very close to and seen grow up from the day he was born and I was Uncle Daryl to him, it was devastating to see the aftermath it did to my dear friends and their daughters, so today it was for you Kris, RIP.

So once again, a huge thankyou to my sponsors and to everyone who has donated and supported me, it has been just overwhelming and I am from my heart very much thankful for your donations no matter how big or small, its all very much appreciated for such a great cause.

Because of your donations I am currently sitting 2nd in Perths Top 3 Riders, so again just overwhelming.  Donations close on Saturday 31st May so if you would still like to help out, like I said no matter how big or small, every little bit helps.

1 Day to go Excitement Plus Now

Hello everyone, well the day is almost here, 1 day to go until we all come together across the globe and you can sense all the excitement.

I had another sponsor jump on board, Aimee from Winter Real Estate donated and was proud to do so with her grandfather just being recently cleared from having prostate cancer and her brother going through mental health issues, so a huge thank you Aimee, it means a lot and very much appreciated.

We will be meeting at Elizabeth Quay and the weather gods are looking down on us as its going to be a glorious day for a ride.  The carousel is also going to be opened for us, so no doubt there will be some fun and laughs there with all these distinguished men and women dressed up and getting on a corusel hahahaha my family also laughed saying knowing me I would be lined up first but having a laugh with one of the organisers, Ben Selboskar he said he would beat me and in line first, hahahaha good work Ben.

Well everyone the donations are still slowly rolling in, so keep them going and I am signing out until ride day, my next post will be after the ride with lots of photos, stay tuned.

2 Days to Go WOOHOO

Well hi again everyone, just a quick update with only 2 days to go, things are starting to get exciting now, we are only 2 days out from all coming together and riding across the globe for the same goal, raising awareness and funds for Prostate Cancer and Men's Mental Health.

Bike is washed and polished and looking smik :-)

Suit is dry cleaned and looking very Dapper :-)

Shirt is ironed, tie is ready as well, shoes polished :-)

Hat is ready and added appropiate colour ribbon around brim :-)

Hair cut & beard trim appt booked for Saturday morning :-)

Donations still slowly rolling in, so keep them coming, no matter how big or small, every little bit helps :-)

This year I will be riding in memory of a very close family friend who I was always Uncle Daryl too, sadly he succombe to suicide a few years ago in his early 20's, so sad and this month was the anniversary.

May you RIP Kris, you are forever in our hearts and very much missed :-(

So I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday morning all looking very Dapper, ride safe everyone :-)

Update with under 2 weeks to go.

Hi everyone,

It's now under 2 weeks to go now until we all get Dappered up and come together all over the globe to ride together as one for this great cause.

The donations have been rolling in the last few days which I am truly grateful for and are very much appreciated no matter how big or small they all help and you should all feel like you have accomplished something great towards this worthy cause.

I have to do a shout out though to one of my donors who remains anonymous, I'm blown away by the huge donation and hope you realise just how much I appreciate it, thank you so very much.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
