A year with prostate cancer

Friday 18th Apr 2025

Around a year ago I was diagnosed with prostate cancer .After a few appointments and scans it was decided that I would be treated with hormone therapy and Radiotherapy in the Lingden Davies centre in Shrewsbury hospital. The treatment completed on April the first and the staff there were amazing . I'm still awaiting the post treatment appointment but I'm hopeful for some good news . 
I did the DGR ride in Shrewsbury last year and it was an amazing day to ride out with so many like minded folks . After hearing about my diagnosis My dear friends managed to raise  £1800 . This year I doubt I will reach that fantastic target BUT I really hope I can get as many of my friends to get tested .

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Tuesday 15th Apr 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
