Friday 16th May 2025Losing Ronnie my brother in law to prostate cancer was a profound loss that touched the hearts and minds of those that new him in unique ways. This blog reflects on the journey, memories, and lessons learned along the way.
*A Personal Reflection*
When someone close to us faces a serious illness like prostate cancer, it reshapes our perspective on life. The experience is both deeply personal and universally relatable, reminding us of the fragility and beauty of life. Ronnies battle with prostate cancer taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, the importance of support systems, and the power of cherished moments.
*The Importance of Awareness*
Prostate cancer affects countless lives, and raising awareness about the disease is crucial. Early detection can significantly improve outcomes, making it essential for men, especially those with risk factors, to discuss screening options with their healthcare providers. Beyond medical awareness, understanding the emotional and psychological impact on patients and their loved ones is vital for providing meaningful support.
*Cherishing Memories*
Memories of Ronnie are filled with laughter, adventure, the odd argument or three and quiet moments of connection. While his passing leaves a profound void, the memories serve as a reminder of the impact they had on my life and the lives of others. Celebrating his life means honoring his legacy by continuing to support causes close to his heart and spreading awareness about prostate cancer.
*Supporting Loved Ones*
If you’re navigating the loss of a loved one to prostate cancer, know that grief is a deeply personal journey. Allow yourself the space to feel whatever emotions arise, and seek support from friends, family, or support groups. Sharing stories and memories can be a powerful way to heal and keep the memory of your loved one alive.
*Moving Forward*
While no one should face cancer alone, no one should grieve alone either. Let’s continue to foster communities that support those affected by prostate cancer, whether they’re fighting the disease or coping with loss. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of others and honor the memories of those we’ve lost.
In closing,Ronnie's journey with prostate cancer may have ended, but its impact on my life and the lessons learned from his courage will endure. May his story inspire others to prioritize health, cherish relationships, and support one another through life’s challenges.
Till we meet on the next run ,

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Thursday 15th May 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives. My Sponsors
