Post broken ribs, and gassing-up my Moto Guzzi for a truly worthy cause
Wednesday 26th Mar 2025Riding my Moto Guzzi and raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health. This philantropic charity in particular has always appealed to me because aside from the excitment of cool motorbikes, and the gloom of prostate cancer, it deals with that often, overlooked internal component —men's mental health. It's a deeper dive into a crucial topic that for far too long was never really discussed, but that has always been true and real to those men that once were, and for those men today that are quietly suffering away. Little did I know that when I started in 2022 supporting this wonderful organization, that just a few years in, I personally would acquire first hand knowledge by finding myself unexpectedly, and perhaps even precisely in the same place of those men I was helping. Now beyond the biological similarities, sympathies and harmony, the relationship today is one of true kinship.
On August 16, 2024, I was involved in a violently motorcycle accident in which I somehow veered off a 90 foot cliff. With 9 broken ribs, front and back, and a host of other serious injuries, I was airlifted by holicopter to the hospital where I would be frantically worked on by doctors and medical staff to eventually spend the next 10 days in the ICU unit. This hard to believe journey of mine was very, very tough, and my mental state through-out this horrific ordeal became a real challenge. It's been 9 months since the accident, and although I am immensely grateful to have lived to tell, I am still steadily working on it each and every day. So before I gas up my motorbike, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can to this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
Lots of love and many thanks to all my supporters for getting me through one of the most difficult moments in my life. Truly, I would not have been able to survive without your love.
Wholeheartedly, I love you all and God bless.
