Why I am riding with the men
Thursday 8th May 2025As a woman, I believe that women, in general, are known to be very vocal in their support of their own gender's mental health. Which is easier to do because women's mental health issues are universally accepted. I'm not in any way trying to take that away from women (women rule), but I do see the double sidedness when it comes to men's mental health.
There's a stigma around men and their mental health. It's not "acceptable" for men to admit when they are depressed, anxious, and/or unhappy with their bodies; it's considered "weakness." Those men that do struggle with these issues, and many other issues, need to be seen and heard and accepted without judgement. We all need help sometimes, no matter the gender.
I believe that if my brother had the resources or the support that so many women in my life have, he would still be here today. In a way, this ride is for him.
I want to show the men in my life that I support them with zero judgement and to raise money and awareness while doing it!
Also, fuck cancer.
I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Monday 5th May 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives. My Sponsors
