That's it for another year!

Oh Man, what a rush!

Another year done, and Mother Nature supported us with another beautiful day.

Over 1350 registered riders on the road, plus the unregistered made for a HUGE gathering this year. Fantastic sight and an honour as always to be part of. £88k and counting so far! 4th Biggest ride in the World, and biggest in Europe and North America! The records keep dropping away...

Some fantastic conversations around mental health, particularly poignant for me coming into my final year of my Advance Counselling & Psychotherapy training, in an environment of camaraderie and support. Just superb.

Inevitably, with that many riders, the first part of the ride slowed down a bit, but that didn't bother many as it was the whole day and the causes that brought us all, men and women, out en masse.

Already looking forward to next year!

My thanks to all those who sponsored me and who sent supportive messages, as both the funds and the conversations I had, all change lives, be it in a small or big way.

Preparation Run Completed!

Hi All,

Well, the great weather on May 1st prompted a preparation run for the Thunderbird!

Having come out of hibernation, there are always a few niggles, and doing these runs is a perfect way to have a great ride, and to find the things that might need attention!

A great trip out to a favourite pub, and meet up with a good friend, saw us sitting for over 5 hours in the sun, having done a 2 hour ride.

Nothing major to fix, just a couple of things to tighten, and all will be well for the 18th!

Many thanks to those who have sponsored me so far (not obligatory!) and I am looking forward to the ride with my usual high level of excitement.

In case anyone wants to spot me at the Surrey Hills Ride, my black Victorian frock coat is being replaced this year by a red one!

Excitement is growing

Not long now until May....have got a new set of microfibre cloths and chrome polish...this year's outfit has been chosen (Victorian last year....a hint to Elizabethan Gentry this year!)...I;ll be open to conversation about mental health and our struggles as men, as always, so in a red Elizabethen style frockcoat I should be easy to find! Grab me (not literally) and have a chat if you feel the urge.

As always, fingers crossed for good weather and safe riding. I have my Rider Angel Bell with me, to keep the gremlins away.

Again, I'm not looking for donations from others, that will be covered by myself, especially in these hard economic times, but do leave me mesages of support, if you can.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Wednesday 9th Apr 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
