There’s something electric about gearing up for a ride with purpose. On May 18th, I’ll be joining the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride through downtown Metuchen on my Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster, and I can’t wait. Already my mind drifts back to a formative tour through Austria with my buddies—a reminder of why I ride, and why this ride matters.
Memories of Austria’s Winding Roads
Last spring, a small group of us set out from Innsbruck on BMW GS machines, carving our way through high passes and alpine meadows. We’d pause at every scenic overlook—and every cozy cafe—to share stories and laughter. Those open‑road moments are what I ride for.
The best rides are the ones where you stop—grab a snack, share a laugh, and remember why you ride together.
Why the DGR Matters
On May 18th, I’ll swap GS adventure for the Speedmaster’s classic lines and laid‑back stance. Decked out in tweed and polished leather boots, I’ll roll alongside hundreds of riders—each mile raising awareness and funding for men’s mental health and prostate cancer research.
-
Community: Just like in the Alps, it’s the people beside you who make every mile memorable.
-
Cause: Every throttle twist in Metuchen supports men’s health—giving each turn on Main Street greater meaning.
-
Passion: From alpine passes to hometown streets, riding with purpose ignites the soul.
