Why I Ride – The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride 2025

In years past, I thought about joining the DGR. During the early 2020s, I struggled with the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many, I found myself searching for something to ground me — something that gave me clarity, peace, and a sense of freedom. That something turned out to be motorcycles.

It started with a vintage 1982 Yamaha XS400 — a humble machine, but one that gave me the space to breathe and reset. Since then, riding has become more than just a passion—it’s been a lifeline. Looking to share this passion, I sold my first bike to my close friend, and eventually, I ended up with a 2018 Triumph Bonneville T120, my modern classic.

On May 19th, I’ll be riding through Calgary as part of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. I’m riding to support men’s mental health and prostate cancer research — causes that hit close to home, and ones that need more attention, understanding, and support.

 

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Monday 14th Apr 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
