2025...it's a wrap...YOU DID IT!

I can honestly say that I never imagined I would be able to raise the level of support I have for the DGR this year. I'm so humbled by everybody's support 🙏

What a rollercoaster! From worrying that £250 would be too high a target to achieve, to you helping me leap over £500... and then...to then beyond £850 as fundraising closed yesterday...just WOW!

All of this is credit to the kindness and generosity of all of you!

Once again, thank you for helping me to make my participation this year have true meaning and create real impact for the ongoing research and development for Prostate cancer treatments and Men's mental health programmes.

I can't wait for the 2026

What a result!

Hey all!

Well, I started off aiming for £250, but you were so generous that you helped me reach £734 today!

In less than a week that's beyond any of my expectations and I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who was kind enough to donate.

It's because of your kindness that we can make a real difference for the treatment and prevention of Prostate cancer and support so many other programmes for men's mental health.

I met with the other chaps at the top of the leader board today. (photo) Paul Sharpe, Anthony Kerry and 1 made up the runners-up numbers 2-4 on today's ride, so far contributing an impressive £804, £752, and £734 to the good cause.

Congratulations to Phil Short, our ride's biggest fundraiser who managed to raise a whopping £2,725!

The Newcastle ride made a significant contribution to the good cauise today... and as well as having some fun on our bikes, we're all really proud we managed to do that.

I met 3 people today on the ride who either had, had a husband with, or had been treated and cleared of Prostate cancer. That's testament to how important these events are, to raise awareness and to help fund research and development of treatment to make sure there are more good news stories.

Thank you, everyone! Without your sponsorship, none of this would be possible, and there would be far fewer of these good news stories to share.

This year, you have helped me raise over £550 for the DGR so far, my best year yet, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone's generosity and for making my participation really count

I love the DGR. I look forward to it every year.
It's a lot of fun, and dressing up for smiles from bystanders is always a great way to raise awareness and funds for an important cause.

Prostate cancer is a realistic concern in my family, but fortunately for my Dad, the research into effective treatment and monitoring coming from funds like the DGR will mean he will very likely outlive his.

Sadly, his brother John was not so fortunate; he was a Police biker who loved riding and was one of the early influences for me and motorcycles too.

I ride every year for those Gents, and many others who the DGR and Movember help support.

Every time I see a donation drop in, I'm so incredibly grateful.

I'll keep pushing the daily posts until the day (sorry), and I hope I'll reach that £500 target.

Although my target, may seem small you should be proud to know it's just part of a much bigger effort and every £1 counts!

The DGR and Movember grow in it's success each year. Measured by improvements, it helps make to available cancer treatments and support Men's health programs worldwide.

What do you mean my tache isn't real?

Less than one to go! 

Last year, I arrived at Triumph Newcastle very happy to be inside after a rather chilly ride to the start point meet...and just like this attire was completely normal!

Rumour had it that some thought my moustache wasn't real!

I'm trying to raise £500, so putting aside any ego and looking a bit silly for a few smiles whilst I do it is all fine with me for such an important cause.

In less than 24hrs, you've already helped raise very close to my original (and rather humble) £250 target for the DGR.

I'm hugely grateful for your kindness and support you have for the cause. So much so that I'm going to raise the bar...next stop £500 target

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
