Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2025: A Tale of Redemption

Wednesday 2nd Apr 2025

Fourth time's the charm! As I prepare for DGR 2025, I can't help but reflect on what makes this event one of the year's absolute highlights. There's something magical about cruising through Stockholm alongside hundreds of dapper bikers who understand the importance of this fantastic cause.

The atmosphere at Sjöfartsmuséet is electric from the moment we gather. Hundreds of beautiful motorcycles lined up with equally well-dressed riders creates a scene that's truly Instagram-worthy. The transformation from our everyday biker appearance to refined gentlemen and gentlewomen is striking!

Last year, however, was an absolute heartbreaker. Picture this: I arrived at the meeting point with my grandchild Stella and my dog Nelson comfortably settled in my sidecar. The pre-ride ritual was in full swing – chatting with fellow enthusiasts, admiring the stunning bikes, and appreciating everyone's dapper attire. Then came those dreaded words from a fellow rider: "Hey, your back tire looks a bit flat."

NOOO! Somewhere along the way, a tiny screw had embedded itself in my rear tire. I was forced to watch everyone else cruise off through the city streets while I stood behind. That level of disappointment is hard to describe. A tow truck eventually came to transport my bike to a tire shop outside Stockholm, and just like that, DGR 2024 was over for me before it even began.

But 2025? It's redemption time! This year, I'll be double-checking those tires, carrying a repair kit, and nothing – NOTHING – is going to stop me from joining this parade of distinguished gentlefolk on their magnificent machines.

See you at the Sjöfartsmuséet, looking dapper and ready to ride for a cause!

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Tuesday 25th Mar 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
